AB In South Moravia a number of Late Gothic relief panels is preserved bearing a heraldic decoration with a inscription or date. The five selected examples represent the period between 1461 and 1497, three are directly dated. Relief panels epitomizing a form of aristocratic representation are today without exception in secondary positions, but we must assume their original prominent location on gates or palaces of noble residences. The question of their workshop provenance remains open, but in some cases, due to the type of stone used and ties in style, there is a probable connection to Austria.
