During years of use, some significant experiences with its use in works of art surveys have been gained. In the study, selected examples of the several different applied arts and artistic wooden objects are presented. There is a summary of the unambiguous significance and clear results of this unique non-invasive method for dating and providing provenance of works of art in the paper. Using the art history methods, it was not possible to determine the exact origin and dating of the individual objects without serious doubts. Due to their historical value, the use of invasive methods was not found fully ethical. The OSM method was chosen for that reason and proved to be fully functional and in fact excellent for that use.
