The authors suggest to adjust the dating of the individual stages based on the building history analysis supported by dendrochronology, probes, and a closer examination of mason's marks. Over centuries, the church underwent a transformation from an early three-aisled Gothic basilica of the Teutonic Order to a four-aisled Late Gothic church of a manorial town reflecting the power of its owners, the Lords of Lipá. Furthermore, several heraldic relics have remained in the church and others are known from written sources. Renaissance, Baroque, and later reconstructions reaching the peak in the 1980 s left their marks on the church's current appearance. The study is an investigation into these building stages and the first step towards the planned overall reconstruction of the church that ranks among the most precious sacral structures in the Znojmo Region.
